Oak_-_ELT004_-_E._LothianAlthough most people involved in our work give their time free of charge, our research costs money. To date we have been supported by grants from the Forestry Commission, Coford, Woodland Heritage and private trusts.

Our work has now reached a vital stage. In order to test the improvement in the seeds we're producing, we need to plant more test orchards in more locations to determine the extent to which improved seeds grow in different locations and climates. Only once we've conducted these trials can we ensure that the most appropriate seeds are taken and used to develop the high-quality trees that will do so much to protect the planet's future.

If you would like to help secure the future of high quality broadleaved trees in Great Britain and Ireland, with all the associated environmental, economic and biodiversity benefits that such genetically diverse trees will bring, please follow the link on the right to make a donation.

If you'd like to find out about the many other ways you may be able to support our work, please call Tim Rowland, BIHT Development Officer, on 01453 884264.
